The sushi chefs and the management team have taught more than 3,000 tourists for last 4 years. Visitors can make nigiri sushi themselves for 90min and enjoy the hands-on experience with all five senses.

90 minutes of learning from a professional sushi chef
Professional sushi chefs will teach you about sushi and show techniques of how to make sushi in 90 minutes. This is a great opportunity to enjoy making sushi with aficionados from all over the world, while learning from craftsmen who daily serve customers in Tsukiji.
Experience of teaching more than 3,000 tourists from abroad
The sushi chefs and the management team who have taught more than 3,000 tourists are starting this new workshop in 2020. Visitors can make sushi themselves and enjoy the hands-on experience with all five senses.
Sushi restaurant in a good old Japanese-style house
The class is held on the second floor of the sushi restaurant in a traditional Japanese-style house, located on the backstreet of the Tsukiji Outer Market. Usually this is when the restaurant prepares for dinner hours, but the space is specially opened for you all!
Sushi’s Mecca, Tsukiji
Tsukiji has been shaping the food culture in Tokyo for over 100 years and is regarded as a mecca for sushi. It is said there are more than 100 sushi restaurants there. If you want to make sushi, come to the gourmet town Tsukiji where world-class chefs visit!
Who teaches the class?
There are two main instructors:
Mr. Bush Ozaki
Born in the downtown Tokyo. More than 20 years of experience as a chef. He likes to go surfing and learned English when living in Australia and Hawaii. His favorite sushi topping is chu-toro (medium fatty part of tuna).
Mr. Sho Miyashita
Born in Fuji-yoshida, Yamanashi, at the foot of Mt. Fuji. After graduating high school in Japan, he finished at a community college in Boston and joined the world of sushi. His favorite sushi topping is tuna. He likes to host home parties and go to karaoke.
What Can I learn?
This program will teach you traditional Tokyo-style nigiri sushi! You will make 6 pieces of nigiri-zushi (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, scallop, egg), 2 pieces of gunkan-maki (sushi wrapped in pressed seaweed) with salmon roe and flying fish roe, and a handroll (avocado, cucumber and kanpyo [seasoned gourd shavings]).
Where in Tsukiji can I take the class?
The class is held on the second floor of a sushi restaurant, Tsukiji Sushi Omakase. Follow the directions below to the restaurant:
From Tsukiji 4 Intersection (on Shin-Ohashi St. and Harumi St.), which is the center of Tsukiji, head east to the Kachidoki Bridge.
Pass Tsukiji Uogashi Bldg on your right.
Turn right at the first corner.
Keep going and you will see this Japanese traditional house on the left side. The class is held on the second floor. (The restaurant is Tsukiji Sushi OMAKASE).

When can I go to the class?
The class takes place 2 times a week (Tuesday and Saturday) before the restaurant opens. Check here for the schedule and book now!

After making a reservation, you will be asked to make a payment.

If you cancel 48 hours prior to the scheduled class, we will give a full refund after your payment.
