Rice
The Minori brand of locally grown “Akitakomachi” rice is the most widely available Japanese rice in Spain.
Soy sauce
Various kinds of soy sauce, such as Kikkoman, Yamasa and Higashimaru can be readily found in Spain.
Miso
There is also a wide variety of miso, including miso made from organically grown soy beans.
Seafood
There are four large markets that distribute Spanish seafood, and Mercamadrid is foremost of these. Most Japanese seafood is not EU-HACCP certified, so Japanese restaurants in Spain generally use seafood landed outside of Japan.
Salmon, tuna, eel, Ibodai (Japanese butterfish) and bonito are commonly found in popular sushi restaurants, and Peruvian / Japanese fusion food such as white fish ceviche are also common in high-end Japanese restaurants.
Alcohol
You can purchase sake, shochu, and Japanese beer at TOKYO-YA, COMINPORT DISTRIBUCIÓN, SALVIONI & ALOMAR, etc.
In Spain, a brand of sake called SEDA LÍQUIDA which has been produced at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains since 2015 has been gaining popularity.
